University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Federal Work-Study Jobs Extranet
webslingerz developed an Extranet application for the UNC-CH Office of Scholarships and Student Aid. This interactive software application utilizes the Web to allow eligible work-study students to search for work-study job listings in a continually revised database.
Authorized work-study supervisors may search for, add, and update work- study job listings via a web-based interface to the database. Student Aid Office administrators are able to create reports and manage supervisor information and job listings via the web. This system has replaced the paper system which was used by the work-study office for several years.
"Federal Work-Study Jobs on the Web has served students, supervisors, and our Work-Study administrator well over the last two years," said Ann Trollinger, Senior Assistant Director of the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid. "This interactive site allows students to explore job possibilities even before they arrive on campus. Supervisors have been pleased with the system because they can quickly create and edit job descriptions. The application allows our office to maintain a current database of employers, a quick approval system for new jobs, and the annual updates of pay rates. We've come a long way from the days when students stood in line to search through twelve notebooks full of jobs."
